After living on the east coast where the tiny hills they call mountains are little more than disappointing to the heart of this northwest born and raised girl, I am so happy to be back. You can take the girl from the mountains, but you can never take the mountains out of the girl. I think they are as much a part of me as the coffee and strong wild Avery blood that runs through my veins. From somewhere inherited this love of freedom, and the mountains that make me feel it’s as real as the air I breath. There is nothing quite like standing on a mountain top, at 10,900ft with wide open views as far as I can see. The air smells fresher, the world looks bigger, life feels better.
